Power - Year in year out

1997
Foundation of Spaun Schaltnetzteile GmbH in August 1997 as an independent company. Partners with 
50% shares each: Friedrich Spaun and Hermann Püthe. The name „Spaun" in the company name, assists in the launching of the young company.

1998
Start of production in February with 6 employees and global purchasing strategy, main customer: Spaun electronic. The company soon gains new customers, end 1998: Sales already reach DM 1.6 million.

1999/2000
Technological edge on the market thanks to innovative use of synchronous commutators in AC/DC and
DC-/DC power supplies.

2001
QM Certification as per DIN ISO 9001:2000; product approvals and production monitoring by internationally recognized organisations, e.g. UL, CSA, VDE etc. First export customer. Friedrich Spaun transfers his shares of 50% to his son Eric, who becomes the new partner.

2002
With 23 employees and an annual volume of 165.000 power supplies, the sales threshold of EUR 2.5 million is exceeded.

2004
Acquisition of the company building including land as well as increase of production by 100%, realization of first power supplies for medical technology, upgrading of in-house testing and production technology with high level of automation.

2005
First presentation of a DIN-Rail standard device: SPAUN LM series plus use as development basis for further customer-specific DIN-rail devices.

2006
First power supplies for railway applications, Federal Motor Vehicle Office Approval with extension of QM certification for automotive applications, end 2006 new building planned with triple production capacity of 3.000 m2.

2007
Extension of marketing and sales, construction of new building September 2007, at year end 
50 employees, production volume reaches approx. 400.000 power supply units, deliveries to over
70 customers world wide, sales approx. EUR 8.5 million.

2008
Move to new building, increase in personnel in development, production and logistics, expansion of domestic and international sales. After over 10 years of „Spaun Schaltnetzteile", independent positioning on the market as inpotronTM Schaltnetzteile GmbH.

Foundation of exscitron GmbH as 100% subsidiary located in Chemnitz, as a pure development center on capacity addition for new product developments.
